Simultaneously, the highly anticipated reboot of James Gunn’s DCU is gearing up for its premiere. A notable crossover is the casting of Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon as Supergirl in the DCU.

Milly Alcock’s Supergirl will be released after Superman

James Gunn is launching his DCU universe with Superman, and the excitement is sky-high after the release of its first trailer. In an interview with Omelette, Gunn also revealed the next movie in the franchise:

“I didn’t necessarily know that Supergirl would be the second movie we were going to make, but Ana [Nogueira] wrote an incredible script, and then we hired an incredible director, and we’re going to do this movie after Superman because he was the best option.

Other movies have been written, but they haven’t been as good as this one. So we’re going to keep going with that. Everything has to be good. Quality comes first in every project we do. And that’s more important than telling a grandiose mega-narrative.”

Jason Momoa has been cast as Lobo in the DCU

Jason Momoa and James Gunn everyone with an announcement that initially seemed too good to be true. Momoa captioned a post “they called” on Instagram, with a snippet of a 2023 story where he had expressed his hope to play Lobo. Furthermore, Gunn welcomed him in comments to that post. Momoa is anticipated to portray Lobo in the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie, starring House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock, which is currently in development.
