Jason Momoa could give up his Aquaman role to play Lobo in the DC universe instead
Henry Cavill made a cameo appearance as Superman in the DC antihero movie flick Black Adam. The movie collected a whopping $390 million at the box office and there is no denying that Dwayne Johnson’s constant teasing that hinted at a Cavill Superman cameo played a huge part in it. But the DCEU has been handed into new hands now.
The cinematic universe with our favorite heroes is now in the hands of James Gunn and Peter Safran and oh boy they are revamping up the entire place. If Borys Kit’s reporting is to be believed then the duo wants to do away with the Synderverse. And while this should have all the Justice League actors shaking in their boots, Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa does not have a thing to worry about.

The actor who is best known for his performance as Aquaman has on countless occasions gushed about James Gunn and Peter Safran and how excited he is to work with them. Another thing that Jason Momoa talks very fondly about is his “Dream DC project”. And given that after the Gunn and Safran takeover, there is a high chance that the dawn never breaks upon the Synderverse, Momoa’s dream DC project may already be in the making.
Jason Momoa as ‘Lobo’ may be the first Gunn-Safran project
Despite the dark tones of the Synderverse, Jason Momoa is well on his way to having the brightest DC career. The actor is all set to amaze as Aquaman once again in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which hits the theater on the 25th of December, 2023.
Be it his upcoming movie or the chances of him being cast as Lobo, the actor is very happy with the new management. Those familiar with James Gunn’s filmography know that the genius filmmaker loves his outsider characters and the journey to making them iconic. And Lobo with his foul mouth and love for cigars is exactly his type.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, they are keen on Jason Momoa to play the role. While there is yet to be any official announcement if casting Jason Momoa as Lobo is a part of the Gunn and Safran renovation plan, then fans cannot wait.
