Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is currently a hot topic amongst fantasy lovers all over the world. There are several rumors flying around about the completion of it its second season, which is currently filming in the UK. One of those was about the show’s release, which was actually hinted at way back in February.

When will House of the Dragon return?

During a Q&A session with Variety back in February, HBO and HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys hinted at a summer 2024 release date for House of the Dragon Season 2. Though nothing is confirmed yet, he said it’s “a good guess” that the show won’t be eligible for the 2024 Emmy season (which ends its eligibility period on May 31, 2024). Which puts the approximate release date close to June 2024.

Will House of the Dragon be released in June 2024?

Recently, a few fan accounts on social media ran with the news that it is confirmed House of the Dragon will return in June 2024. However, the matter of the fact is that nothing has been confirmed yet and everything is just speculation.

The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes haven’t impacted the production so far, we just have to wait for the severity of the movement in the future. For now, if the strikes don’t escalate, there’s a good chance the filming of the Game of Thrones prequel will stick to schedule and we might be looking at a summer release next year.
