House of the Dragon‘s first season masterfully captured everything we’ve come to love about the Game of Thrones franchise. Without a doubt, the show’s core themes shone through, including violence and deception, as well as emotions such as love, desire, hunger, despair, and dread. The award-winning panels gave birth to the highly effective scenes. Some of the panels have also revealed hidden details about the show, such as Caraxes’ first initial design.

Caraxes initially had a similar head structure to Syrax

Creature designer & concept artist Constantine Sekeris has been closely working with the House of the Dragon crew from the start. Recently, he revealed an early design for Caraxes, posted on X by House the Dragon fan account. The design features a head with horns bent backwards, much like the final design for Syrax.

House of the Dragon concept artist won Concept Arts Awards 2023

Constantine Sekeris was awarded the 2023 Concept Art Awards, which were hosted in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium at LightBox Expo.
