Abubakar Salim (Alyn of Hull) presents award for Best Narrative at the Game Awards
House of the Dragon actor celebrates gaming achievements at the prestigious 10th Annual Game Awards.
Abubakar Salim, known for his role as Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon, attended the 10th Annual Game Awards on December 12, 2024. The actor, who has deep ties to the gaming industry, presented the award for Best Narrative at the event. Salim is celebrated for voicing Bayek of Siwa in Assassin’s Creed Origins and for founding Surgent Studios.
Surgent Studios developed the game “Tales of Kenzera: Zau,” which has garnered critical acclaim. Salim has used his platform to highlight themes like storytelling, diversity, and personal narratives. This year, Salim presented the award for Best Narrative at The Game Awards.

Abubakar Salim’s gaming credentials extend beyond his acting career. He gained widespread recognition as the voice of Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins. This role established him as a prominent voice actor in the gaming world.
At this year’s Game Awards, Salim presented the award for Best Narrative. The award for Best Narrative went to Metaphor: ReFantazio, which faced strong competition from titles like Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and Silent Hill 2.
During his presentation, Salim humorously referenced his late father, saying, “I’m not going to talk about my dad.” This remark alluded to the inspiration behind “Tales of Kenzera: Zau” and its critical reception.
Salim founded Surgent Studios, which focuses on creating impactful games. The studio’s flagship title, “Tales of Kenzera: Zau,” pays tribute to Salim’s late father. The game is known for its heartfelt narrative and cultural themes. Salim’s game, nominated at The Game Awards for the Games for Impact category, lost to “Neva.”
