Fans react to Laena Velaryon’s death in House of The Dragon episode 6

The highly-awaited sixth episode of Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is finally here. And my oh my so much has passed over the period of ten years, the time period the recent episode skipped. We finally get a glimpse at the older versions of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), Laenor Velaryon (John MacMillan) and Laena Velaryon (Nanna Blondell), and the first look at Vhagar, the biggest dragon in Westeros in House of the Dragon. Sadly, we lost Laena in this episode. We had talked about this possibility, and it happened in a way much different from the one depicted in Fire & Blood, which shocked a lot of fans.

Yeah I was going to say her death is way worse in the book. I wish they had given Laena more screentime & shown her relationship with Daemon a bit more (in the book, it's implied he truly loved her), but I think her death scene actually worked well…

This has nothing to do with GRRM. Laena's death in the show was actually good. As stated in the original tweet: it's weird that the only black female character had her arc diminished and replaced with a dysfunctional family. That's the point.

I was kind of surprised that people were mad about the death scene. I thought it worked, tho they could have shown Daemon even more torn up (they really did their relationship dirty). My problem was more that Laena should have had more screentime, but not her actual death.

maybe they'd have still cut into her uterus, but the outcome would have been the same. as evidenced by laena, I don't think they've perfected the technique yet. so any case of dystocia most likely means death during that period? damn
