Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger) looks back at his Game of Thrones journey
Numerous exceptionally gifted artists were part of the cast and crew of Game of Thrones. Some of them, like Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), joined at a very young age and grew up with the series. Some, like seasoned actor Aidan Gillen, were well-known before they made their appearance on Game of Thrones. The audience was compelled to feel both love and hate for Gillen’s Petyr Baelish because he infused the character with such charm and mystery. He recently looked back at his Game of Thrones journey.
Aidan Gillen looks back at his time on Game of Thrones
Gillen’s Littlefinger was one of the very few characters on the HBO epic who were present in every season. He recalled in an interview with CinemaBlend, “I love it. As an experience. It lasted, it was over a seven, eight-year period or something. You weren’t there all the time. No one was there all the time, but it was so well made that it looks like that world was so well created. It looks like everyone was there all the time. I was doing a lot of other things while we were shooting that.”
Here’s what Aidan Gillen misses about Game of Thrones
Gillen has been a prominent name in the acting industry for a long time, but his Game of Thrones role is perhaps the most remarkable. He further said, “And there’s not much, there’s nothing really I miss about it. Any cold weather stuff or, you know, that you hear people going on about being stuck in forests in Northern Ireland or whatever.
No issues there. What I miss is that … even though that was made on a massive scale, it was about detail. It was about tiny pieces, jigsaw pieces, and every director that was there, every writer, they all knew that. And that’s what we were working on.”
