In the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, the Targaryens and their dragons were thriving in Westeros around 200 years prior to the events of the main series. The first season covered how Westeros was led into a deadly conflict after members of the ruling family, the Targaryens, found themselves at war with each other. While a number of important characters were introduced, there are still a lot more to come.

Aaron Hodgetts to play an apprentice in Season 2

One of the most important characters to be introduced in the second season of House of the Dragon is Alicent and Viserys’ third son, Daeron Targaryen. While fans have been speculating who might be playing the young warrior, one of the names that popped up was Aaron Hodgetts. His agency recently listed that he will be playing the role of an apprentice in a House of the Dragon episode directed by Alan Taylor.

This casts serious doubts upon the speculations about him playing Daeron. But there’s also a possibility that ‘apprentice’ is a codename for Daeron, as he was sent to Oldtown to serve as a cupbearer and squire to Lord Ormund Hightower.
