‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ spinoff likely to film in Northern Ireland
House of the Dragon is presently a high-priority project at HBO. But the prequel series, which was inspired by the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war, wasn’t the only concept in development. There were a few more; some are no longer in production, while others are in different phases of development. On the other hand, a prequel series based on George R. R. Martin‘s Dunk and Egg novellas was the last to be confirmed. And it might begin filming soon.
The Dunk and Egg series might be filmed in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Fans of Martin’s works have been long awaiting another Game of Thrones spinoff, when HBO announced earlier this year the upcoming prequel ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’. According to an observation by Redanian Intel, HBO might be making a return to Belfast with the new Dunk and Egg series.
Lisa Byrne, a producer for Game of Thrones seasons three through eight, stated on her LinkedIn resume that she was involved with the Dunk and Egg series. According to the job description, Belfast, Northern Ireland, is the location. HBO may use Titanic Studios once more; this has not been confirmed yet, but considering the crew’s background and history there, it is a possibility.
HBO reportedly casting for ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’
Lucy Bevan Casting recently posted a casting call, stating that they were “looking for two leading roles in an upcoming HBO series.” The roles were described as “soldier” and “boy” in the description. Longtime fans of Westeros will recognize the description and instantly connect it to the story of Dunk & Egg because of how strikingly similar the details are to the well-known Knight and his royal squire.
