This Cello cover of Game of Thrones theme song shot in Dubrovnik is simply amazing!
Game of Thrones is one of the most popular shows on the planet, as we all know, but there is one thing that sets it apart. : the title theme. Anybody who has watched the show will know how epic the theme tune is, and how all of us sing along to it. The theme, no doubt, has been covered by a lot of artists over the years, but the cover we have now is probably the one we have been waiting for, for a long time. 2CELLOS covered the Game of Thrones, and it is amazing!
If you don’t know about 2CELLOS, they’re a quite famous duo from Croatia, basically just two dudes playing all the epic tunes on their cellos. The duo is made up on Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser. The Game of Thrones cover is part of their new album, ‘Score’, and it also features the London Symphony Orchestra. It starts off with the lament of The Rains of Castamere before breaking into the theme tune. Check it out, below :
The video was shot in Dubrovnik, which is a Game of Thrones filming location in Croatia, used to portray King’s Landing. The cover is mesmerizing, and we would be lying if we said we didn’t want the duo to partner up with Ramin Djawadi to score at least one epic sequence in the final season of Game of Thrones.
2CELLOS’ new album Score is out now, and has 14 different popular tunes covered by the duo. You can grab your copies off of Amazon or iTunes. We’re hoping the duo covers more tunes from the show, including a full version of The Rains of Castamere. How did you like the duo’s Game of Thrones cover? Tell us in the comments, down below!
