7 details you might have missed in Game of Thrones season 6 episode 8: No One
The latest episode of Game of Thrones season 6, No One had some pretty exciting moments. We got to see lot of action and both the Clegane brothers were in a mood to destroy people. The Hound chopped off the head of a member of the Brotherhood Without Banners with an axe and used it to finish off the remaining people. His brother, The Mountain didn’t need an axe and he just ripped off the head of a Sparrow. That’s one brutal way to kill a person. Meanwhile in Essos, Arya managed to kill the Waif after luring her into a room where she had kept her sword, Needle.
We also got to see some reunions when Bronn and Pod met each other and even Brienne and Jaime came face to face. It was wonderful to see these reunions. However, things didn’t go well for Brienne and Blackfish. Brienne failed to convince the Blackfish to help Sansa and the Blackfish failed to convince the castellan to not let Edmure come inside Riverrun. Tyrion and friends were in trouble as the Masters attacked Meereen but luckily Daenerys arrived on time.
With so many things happening, there were many details which you might have missed. So here we are back with the Game of Details for Game of Thrones season 6 episode 8, No One.
1. The things we do for love
While talking with Edmure Tully in the tent, Jaime Lannister repeated an iconic line from the first episode of Game of Thrones season 1, when he pushed Bran Stark out of a window.
2. A YouTube star who does Game of Thrones impressions made a cameo in the episode
The Hound went on a rampage in the episode, killing people with an axe. Among the people he killed, was a face which many Game of Thrones fans recognized. We are talking about the person who got his head chopped off by the Hound and his name is Steve Love, who is known for his Game of Thrones impressions. Read more about his Game of Thrones role over here.
3. Cleganebowl has been cancelled
In the latest episode, King Tommen made an announcement that from now onwards Trial by Combat would be banned in Westeros. This means that Cersei wouldn’t be able to use the Mountain to free her and with it all hopes about seeing the Cleganebowl have been dashed. Now we can only wait and watch if in the future there’s any fight between the two brothers but as of now it seems highly unlikely.
4. The rumour about which Cersei and Qyburn have a discussion
Just after Tommen made the announcement banning Trial by Combat, Qyburn had some good news for Cersei. “Your grace, that old rumour you told me about … my little birds investigated,” was what he said to Cersei and when she enquired, “And? Is it just a rumour or something more?“, he replied by saying, “More, much more”
Both of them might be talking about Wildfire as there’s a theory about Cersei being the Mad Queen and according to the theory, she will use the Wildfire to eliminate the High Sparrow and his followers. We have seen a wildfire explosion in Bran’s visions and it was very prominent but such an incident hasn’t yet occurred in the show. So it has to be from the future and the show might have given us further hint when Jaime Lannister was talking with Edmure. While talking about Cersei, he said the following to Edmure, “Start a war. Burn cities to ash. Free their worst enemies … The things we do for love.”
The burn cities to ash part might be a reference to Cersei using Wildfire to eliminate the High Sparrow.
5. Tyrion’s incomplete joke
In the episode, we saw Tyrion, Missandei and Grey Worm cracking some jokes. However, when Tyrion started his second joke about a jackass and honeycomb, it was cut short as the Masters attacked Meereen. This wasn’t the first time Tyrion tried cracking this joke.
In season 1, when Tyrion was captured by Catelyn Stark and taken to the Vale, Tyrion was asked to confess his crimes. However Tyrion started talking about the pranks that he played when he was young and then he started saying, “I once brought a jackass and a honeycomb into a brothel,” he was cut off by Lysa Arryn
6. Tougher girls than you have tried to kill me
When the Hound was roaming around the forest, looking for the people who killed Brother Ray and others, he came across Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr, who were about to hang 3 of their members for slaughtering Ray and the villagers. At that time, the Hound said ,”Tougher girls than you have tried to kill me,” after a person pointed arrow at him.
The Hound was referring to Brienne and Arya, who tried to kill him but failed.
7. I prefer chicken
When the Hound was having food with the Brotherhood Without Banners, he told Thoros that he preferred chicken. This is a callback to the famous scene from from season 4 when the Hound killed people over few chickens.
