We might go beyond the Wall in House of the Dragon Season 2
We might go beyond the Wall in House of the Dragon Season 2 and meet somone unexpected.
The excitement for House of the Dragon Season 2 is building. Reviews call it the best summer show, especially after Episode 4, which showed the Battle of Rook’s Rest and Rhaenys’s death.
Back in episode 1, we saw an interaction between Prince Jacaerys and Cregan Stark, hinting at the Wall’s history and the looming threat from beyond the Wall. This refers to the White Walkers and their army of wights. Last year, reports suggested that we might see the wights again. Read on to know more.

Taking place nearly a century before the events of A Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms compiles the first three official prequel novellas to George R. R. Martin’s ongoing masterwork, A Song of Ice and Fire.
Will we see the wights in House of the Dragon?
In the first episode of Season 2, Prince Jacaerys visits the Wall to seek support from Cregan Stark. He reminds Cregan of his father Rickard Stark’s oath of loyalty to Rhaenyra. He also mentions the significance of Torrhen Stark, the first King in the North, bending the knee to Aegon the Conqueror.
At this time, Cregan emphasizes that the Wall must remain guarded to ‘keep out death.’ He even mentions that dragons Vermithor and Silverwing refused to cross the Wall when King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne visited.
Cregan Stark’s reluctance to leave the Wall unguarded ties back to Aegon the Conqueror’s dream of a Targaryen protecting Westeros from the Northern threat. This threat, the White Walkers and their wights, led by the Night King, was a central theme in Game of Thrones.
The Wall, built by Bran the Builder, is the first line of defense against these undead creatures. The Catspaw Dagger, crucial in the fight against the Army of the Dead in Game of Thrones, also appears in House of the Dragon.
Recent reports suggest we might see wights in House of the Dragon. Images shared online last year sparked these rumors, but it remains uncertain if they will appear in the show.
In Game of Thrones, wights were reanimated corpses created by the White Walkers. These undead creatures, part of the Army of the Dead, were resistant to conventional weapons but vulnerable to fire, dragonglass, and Valyrian steel. With his dark magic, the Night King could raise wights from any relatively intact corpse, making them a terrifying force.
