George R.R. Martin shares an update on “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” casting
Elio M. García Jr. recently shared an update about the casting for the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” on Westeros.org, A Song of Ice and Fire’s official website. In addition to creating Westeros.org and A Wiki of Ice and Fire, García Jr. has assisted author George R.R. Martin in writing various lore books, including Fire and Blood.
“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is filmed in Northern Ireland. The casting for the main actors was previously announced, but Martin has now revealed that many other important characters have been cast. However, HBO isn’t ready to reveal the names of these new cast members yet.

García Jr. posted, “Most of the auditions — not all, but most — are done, and we should be able to announce some more cast members shortly. We have our Tanselle, Steely Pate, Baelor Breakspear, the Laughing Storm, a couple of Fossoways, Aerion Brightflame (boo, hiss), Prince Maekar, and the rest. Lists are being built on Ashford Meadow. I am told they just had the first table read, and that it went great.”
García Jr. mentioned that we do know that young actor Dexter Sol Ansell will play Egg. He referenced Martin’s blog post where the author shared a video of Ansell getting his head shaved for the role.
García Jr. also included a gallery of artwork by Roman Papsuev in the post to give fans a taste of what to expect. Papsuev is known to fans from the early days as Amok or Amoka. The artwork, commissioned by the Dabel Brothers, is based on Mike S. Miller’s designs for “The Hedge Knight” comic book.
