Locals in North Wales spot a new House of the Dragon set being erected at Trefor quarry
One of the few projects to have been unaffected by the WGA strikes is HBO’s prequel to Game of Thrones, House of The Dragon. Production is progressing quite swiftly on the second season and may be completed sooner than for season 1. We bring you the most recent information from its brand-new North Wales filming base.
New House of The Dragon set in Trefor Quarry
A few days ago, it was confirmed that the House of The Dragon crew was to move to North Wales after filming in Spain that took place in May. Several locals have spotted the HBO crew cleaning up the site for production. One resident, Twitter user @rhynwilliams, was able to capture a glimpse at the new set being constructed on site.

According to a report by the Redanian Intelligence, House of The Dragon will be filmed at the following locations in North Wales:
- Llyn Lydaw
- Ogwen Valley
- Trefor Quarry
- Pen-Yr-Orsedd Quarry
