Season 2 of HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is currently under production. Fans have so far showered the fantasy epic with love, much like they did with its predecessor, praising the characters, plotlines, settings, and other elements that make it so engaging. One of the fields in which House of The Dragon will top Game of Thrones will be its Dragon battles, and it seems like there will be plenty in Season 2.

Battle at Rook’s Rest to be filmed at North Wales

According to insider information by North Wales Live, there may be a number of significant war sequences that will be filmed in North Wales. Rumor has it that the notable battles that might be taking place are – the Battle of Burning Mill, Battle of Stone Hedge, and Battle of Rooks Rest.

What happened at the Battle of Rook’s Rest?

The Battle at Rook’s Rest was the first significant conflict in which Targaryens engaged one another during the civil war. The castle of Rook’s Rest was under siege by the Greens. After nine days, Princess Rhaenys and Meleys arrived to join the defendants, and set the Greens’ side of the field on fire.

King Aegon II flew to battle her atop Sunfyre, but the young Targaryen King was no match for the experience of the Queen Who Never Was. Following the combat, Prince Aemond suddenly descended on Rhaenys and Meleys with his dragon, Vhagar, and killed both of them. Aegon and Sunfyre were seriously impaired in the duel.

Additionally, it was reported that some beach filming currently taking place in the region would be used for Dragonstone, a movie that was previously shot in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe on Spain’s northern coast. This is the second place Penmon has allegedly filled in for, according to previous allegations that it was also being utilized as Pentos, a location for Game of Thrones that did not feature in House of the Dragon but was filmed in Morocco.
