Maisie Williams admits Game of Thrones “definitely fell off at the end”
Game of Thrones Season 8 wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The season finale divided the fan base into two. One was satisfied with the ending, the other demanded a season remake. Some blamed the absence of George R. R. Martin’s next installment of books. While some blamed the showrunners’ piqued interest to launch a Star Wars feature film trilogy with Disney’s Lucasfilm. Even the show’s alum Emilia Clarke gets why fans were f**king p***ed about the final episode. Her co-star, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), who initially defended the finale, says her views have changed after watching the series once again.
Maisie recently appeared on her brother James Williams’ podcast and was asked how she felt after rewatching the show. She said, “It definitely fell off at the end. It started really strong. (But) It kinda popped off. I was heartbroken when Ned died. For the first time, I could really feel the story.”

This is not the first time the Arya Stark actress has expressed her thoughts about the finale. Her views have changed over the years, and the more recent ones are generally throwing shade at the showrunners, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. She understands the hate that the Game of Thrones finale received, but also admits that she did enjoy the show.
