Interview
Ewan Mitchell (Aemond) going to be a massive hit among fans, says Fabian Frankel from House of the Dragon
For his Esquire interview, Fabien Frankel analyzes some of the show’s memorable moments. The 28-year-old actor, who portrays Ser Criston Cole in House of the Dragon season1, was born and raised in southwest London. He talked about the Dragon universe and how he landed the part in the prequel to one of the most popular shows in recent history.
The most incredible recasting of House of the Dragon episode 8 was Prince Aemond Targaryen‘s. Aemond goes through the most radical change in personality, demeanor, and terror after the six-year time jump that occurs in House of the Dragon episode 8. Talking about Ewan Mitchell, Frankel mentioned that “He is going to be a massive hit amongst the fans.”
Though Cole is a lusty, murderous rogue, the show’s behind-the-scenes crew is a world away from the Thrones crew. For example, the sex scenes on this show are less controversial than on Thrones. In this regard, the actor said:
“Long gone are the days where two actors are supposed to just turn up on set and throw themselves into an incredibly awkward intimate situation with no guidance from anyone.”
One of the most noticeable changes that Fabien Frankel discussed is the cast frequently changing. Emma D’Arcy replaced Milly Alcock as Rhaenyra, while Olivia Cooke took over from Emily Carey as her best frenemy, Alicent. Episode by episode, the show’s ever-expanding offspring have grown from babies to toddlers to adults. Even adult characters, such as Paddy Considine’s ailing monarch Viserys, have noticeably aged up.
