Theory explains how Rhaenyra and Alicent might reunite in House of the Dragon Season 2
As seen in House of the Dragon, Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower have been best friends since they were very young. They shared everything with each other and became close confidants. However, things changed when Alicent married Rhaenyra’s father and King Viserys. This changed the dynamic between the two young girls and soon, a rift formed between them.
The ultimate point of contention came when the matter of ascending the Iron Throne was discussed. Alicent wanted her kids to continue their father’s legacy. Whereas Rhaenyra wanted her birthright since she was the first heir in line. Nobody knew how this battle for power and the Iron Throne will eventually turn into a Civil War that will forever be remembered in Targaryen history.

Fans speculate Rhaenyra and Alicent will come face to face in season 2
Ever since the final trailer of House of the Dragon was released, fans have been hard at work trying to find easter eggs and other subtle hints regarding the story. Social media platform X is buzzing with pieces of evidence and situations that have a possibility of happening in the much-awaited season 2 of the HBO prequel show.
When Rhaenyra whispers the “war is coming” line in the trailer, you can actually hear a small female gasp in the background, the it also sounds like they’re in some kind of empty hall.

One fan suggests that when Rhaenyra whispers war is coming in the trailer, they can hear a female gasp following the statement. Many believe this to be Alicent’s voice as elsewhere in the trailer, she is stopping Aemond from going too far just to win this war. The Queen might have had a change of heart after learning how Aemond killed Rhaenyra’s son Luke. Given how close friends they used to be, Alicent might know the lengths to which Rhaenyra will go to get her revenge.
It’s not like things can get worse between Alicent and Rhaenyra, but their kids and alliances might take the war to another level. It also suggests that somewhere in their hearts, both Rhaenyra and Alicent have some respect and love for each other since they don’t want to see either of them get burnt in this vicious fight.
How will Rhaenyra and Alicent meet in House of the Dragon season 2?
Another fan claims that Rhaenyra will infiltrate King’s Landing dressed as a Septa to meet Alicent Hightower. In an empty hall, their paths will converge and they will have a heart-to-heart conversation to figure out the boundaries of this already burgeoning war. In the latest trailer, Alicent is also seen stopping a hand holding a knife that appears to belong to Rhaenyra.
🚨I Season two theory:
Rhaenyra and Alicent will reunite in Kings Landing while Rhaenyra is disguised as Septa.
In a shot from the latest trailer, Alicent is seen grabbing someone’s hand holding a knife. We know from S01E03 that the knife belongs to Rhaenyra.

This further confirms that the two fierce ladies of House of the Dragon will come face to face atleast once in the upcoming season. A comment on the post claims that Rhaenyra made a visit to King’s Landing in the books to help the common folk of the land and ensure they don’t get caught in the crosshairs of this massive turbulence. It’s definitely exciting to unravel the intricacies of such a suspenseful show to guess what might happen. Nonetheless, fans trust the showrunners to still take them by surprise and continue the thrill of the story in House of the Dragon season 2.
