Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is finally here! The first episode of the show aired earlier this week, and it is every bit as dark, powerful, visceral, disturbing, and stunning to look at, just as George R. R. Martin prophesied. The premiere had several gut-wrenching, emotional, visually aesthetic, and gory sequences during its run of an hour and six minutes, and was very well received amongst both U.S. and U.K. audiences. As soon as the news came out that House of The Dragon has been renewed for a second season, it broke the internet.

The Sandman creator Neil Gaiman recently took to Twitter to congratulate the team of House of The Dragon, while also awaiting the renewal of his own show. He wrote: “I’m thrilled for House of the Dragon. Obviously, @Netflix has its own methods of deciding if they will be renewing or not, and these apparently involve a full thirty days of viewing figures. (21 days in and we’re still at Number 1. So fingers crossed.)”

Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin and Gaiman have been mutual admirers of each other’s work for a really long time. A few weeks ago, when Martin was down with covid after SDCC 2022, he was sent advance copies of The Sandman to watch. Martin highly recommended the series to his fans.

The Sandman has been the top Netflix show for 21 days now. Do you think it will get a second season like House of The Dragon? Tell us in the comments below!
