HBO’s latest hit The Last of Us is halfway through, and we have already experienced a lot of heartbreaks along the way. The show is following a trope very closely followed by shows like Game of Thrones and House of The Dragon, making morally grey characters, then building them up to be likable, and finally killing them off in the most shocking way. However, the latest monstrosity in the show, the Bloater, has shot to fame on its arrival in Episode 5, and has achieved somewhat of a ‘big daddy’ status according to some.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Adam Basil, who portrays the character, and was a stand-in for the Hound and the Mountain on Game of Thrones, told how he has been receiving thirst texts ever since the episode premiered. He said, “He seems to be a bit of a sex icon.”

“He’s captured a lot of people’s imaginations. Someone asked me if I’d come to their wedding. I’ve had people sending me love messages. He really brought out something in people that I don’t think even they knew they had. He’s the big daddy mushroom, I think there’s been a [meme].”
