Rory McCann (The Hound) talks about an injury he suffered on the sets of Game of Thrones Season 7
Game of Thrones has a lot of characters that have had a change of heart over the years. You all remember how much we hated Jaime Lannister when the show began, and we know how badly we want him to be among those that survive. Another such character that seems to have always had a hard time deciding which side to choose, bad or good, is The Hound, a.k.a. Sandor Clegane. We now see him with the Brotherhood without Banners, headed by Beric Dondarrion. As you can clearly notice in Season 7, The Hound is a changed man. Rory McCann, who plays the role of The Hound, recently talked about an on-set injury he suffered while filming for Season 7, and more. Read on!
Rory recently spoke to theSunday Morning Herald, and he seemed to have a knee injury. After dodging talking about the filming, he finally admitted that the injury was from the set :
“OK, it was from the show. I can’t tell you exactly how but I had this guy on my shoulder for days and days – it didn’t work with a dummy so I had to carry a real guy and we had to run and run … No wonder I’m f—ed.”
He went on to speak about what The Hound was going through :
“At the end of last season he found himself with the Brotherhood without Banners and he had to make a choice. It was basically, ‘Do you wanna do the right thing? Do you wanna find peace within yourself? Join us and fight the fight against evil.’ And that was what he chose. So this time round he’s on a road trip with the brotherhood when we join him. And there’s a lot going on.”
He talked some about filming for Season 7, and how him not watching the show had him confused on set :
“The first problem has been that I don’t watch the show. I’m a bit different that way, I don’t watch telly at all. So when I met the other actors [for season seven] I didn’t know who they were. I’d be asking people, ‘So who’s the big guy over there then?’ ‘Oh, he’s Lord whatever of House whatever.’ ‘Well, is he a good guy or a bad guy? And who are you?’ And some of them are going, ‘Are you f—ing joking? We’ve been here on the show for three years, man!’”
