Peter Dinklage set to play the head of Academy in upcoming Hunger Games prequel
Actor Peter Dinklage is one of the most familiar faces in the film-making industry currently, and has played several iconic characters over the years. He has managed to break stereotypes, push away boundaries, and solidify his role as an accomplished showman. From playing Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, to starring in his wife’s musical Cyrano, Peter Dinklage has come a long way. He made quite the buzz back in 2018 when MCU’s Avengers: Infinity War was released, when he played Eitri the Dwarf King. He has now set his eyes upon the Hunger Games franchise, set to play an important role.
Dinklage has been called upon to play Casca Highbottom, dean of the Academy, in the upcoming prequel titled Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Joining him will be Tom Blyth, who will play the role of young Coriolanus Snow, and Rachel Zegler, as tribute Lucy Gray Baird. Francis Lawrence, who directed the franchise’s Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part One, and Mockingjay Part Two, will also direct the upcoming prequel.
The film is an adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Suzie Collins. It is being produced by Lionsgate Entertainment and is set to release on 17 November 2023. Are you excited to see Peter Dinklage explore the Hunger Games universe? Tell us in the comments below!
