Pedro Pascal wishes he got the Oberyn Martell treatment instead of tasting Hot Ones
There have been several memorable death scenes on Game of Thrones, a lot of them were brutal and visceral. But few come close to Oberyn Martell’s death at the hands of The Mountain. Pedro Pascal brought such a charm to the character, the Viper became one of the fan favorites in a really short time. His brutal execution traumatized the viewers, however, he prefers to have really gone through that experience than taste the incredibly spicy Hot Ones.
Was Pedro Pascal crying while tasting Hot Ones?
Yes almost, by the end of the video he had turned red and teary. He began to tear up when he had the Brooklyn Delhi ghost pepper sauce on his chicken wings. When the host Sean Evans asked him about his experience getting his eyes gouged out by the Mountain on Game of Thrones, he said:
“Maybe in this interview as well. I could beg you to gouge my eyes out and collapse my skull. In case it gets really bad.”
How was Oberyn Martell’s death scene filmed on Game of Thrones?
Pedro recalled, “I got my head crushed in, it was the best part of the day. It was so hot when we were shooting that scene you know, he’s[Hafthor Bjornsson] over me and puts his thumbs into my eyes and they’ve got tubing through his body into his forearms to his thumbs and just pumping like this cool blood. And he was so gentle, the gentlest guy ever. No pressure at all, you know. And he was so hyper-aware of it. I couldn’t even feel his weight on me as he was straddling me.”
“There were all of these fleshy bits that they were kind of placing over my face and pumping blood so that it would pool and spread through the amphitheater for this good and wide angle. I was dead asleep.”
