The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal has such an enigmatic aura, you’re left mesmerized each time you see the actor walk in on your screen. He knows how to make any job fun. His presence simply lights up your mood and you wish that the movie, show, interview, or whatever you are watching, keeps going on. The Last of Us directors are witnessing it firsthand, and they are in awe of Pedro’s dedication.

Pedro Pascal was crying to help Gabriel Luna get into character

In a recent interview with Variety, The Last of Us Episode 6 director Jasmila Žbanić revealed Pedro Pascal cried every time they filmed Joel and Tommy’s emotional and heartfelt reunion with a different take. She said, “It’s a very emotional scene for Pedro. I was filming him as a second; first we filmed Gabriel, and then I noticed that each time we repeated, Pedro was crying. He was not on camera, but he was crying because he was giving his partner everything so that he can act.”

Pascal and Gabriel Luna (Tommy) each tried multiple different takes on the material and suggested changes of their own. Žbanić said, “This is very special. It’s so generous of an actor to do this so deeply. I was amazed by Pedro’s talent.”

Will Joel return in The Last of Us Season 2?
