Matt Smith reveals Daemon Targaryen has a lot of sex scenes in House of The Dragon – “Slightly too much, if you ask me!”
Game of Thrones was the biggest and one of the most controversial shows of the past decade. The fantastical series was famous not just for its story and amazing CGI, but also for graphic nudity. The sex scenes shocked quite a number of audiences who questioned the show’s approach to sex. The upcoming prequel House of The Dragon has been speculated to have a lesser number of sex scenes as compared to Game of Thrones. However, it appears Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen will have his fair share of bedroom scenes, a bit more than what the actor initially expected.
Talking to Rolling Stone, Smith compared the amount of explicit scenes between the two series. He said, “You do find yourself asking, ‘Do we need another sex scene?’ And they’re like, ‘Yeah, we do.’ I guess you have to ask yourself: ‘What are you doing? Are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time [we’re living in]?’ And I actually think it’s your job to represent the books truthfully and honestly, as they were written.”
Smith also hinted on the amount of time Daemon spends in his bedchamber in the first season. “Yeah — slightly too much, if you ask me,” he laughs.
