Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington to star in Lot No. 249: Arthur Conan Doyle’s Christmas Horror Story adaptation
With his portrayal of Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, Kit Harington gained popularity and has since become well-known. Since then, Harington has advanced significantly, playing memorable parts in a number of anthology series in addition to making appearances in the MCU.
The Jon Snow fame is making significant strides with the kind of parts he is landing, the recent one sees him place his foot in the horror genre.
Kit Harington to star in Lot No. 249
Lot No. 249 is being adapted by Mark Gatiss for the BBC’s yearly A Ghost Story for Christmas anthology of holiday horror stories. In the film, Harington will portray Oxford athlete Abercrombie Smith, who believes that Egyptology student Edward Bellingham (Freddie Fox) is working on reviving Lot No. 249, an Egyptian mummy he owns, and sending it to attack his adversaries.
Freddie Fox has been cast in House of the Dragon Season 2, while Gatiss has previously worked with Harington on Game of Thrones, portraying Tycho Nestoris in four episodes of the HBO hit.

After Sherlock, which aired on BBC and PBS (in the U.S.) from 2010 to 2017 and starred Benedict Cumberbatch as the title detective in contemporary London, Lot No. 249, written in 1892 for Harper’s Magazine, is the second Doyle work that Gatiss adapted.
In addition, Gatiss is directing his sixth holiday TV movie, following The Tractate Middoth (2013), The Dead Room (2018), Martin’s Close (2019), The Mezzotint (2021), and Count Magnus (2022), four of which were adapted from novels by M.R. James.
When will Lot No. 249 air?
BBC Two’s Christmas programming will feature Lot No. 249. Usually it airs between December 21-25. According to TellyVisions.org:
