The first season of House of the Dragon has left fans wanting more, and the show had been renewed for a second chapter even before the season finale aired. It might be some time for the second season to finally be here, as it takes a lot of hard work, planning, patience, coordination between various departments, and a big budget. The filming for the second season has already begun, and four new cast members have officially been announced.

Who are the new cast members in House of The Dragon Season 2?

In a recent Tweet by the House of The Dragon official account and a report by Deadline, 4 new actors have been signed up for the following roles:

  • Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Castellan of Harrenhal and great-uncle to Lord Larys
  • Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, son of Otto Hightower, brother to Queen Alicent
  • Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, a healer and resident of Harrenhal
  • Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, a sailor in the Velaryon fleet

We had previously reported about the casting of Rankin and Salim, though it wasn’t confirmed back then what role they had been assigned.

House of The Dragon Season 2 will have some new faces

In an exclusive interview with Sky Atlantic, Condal said, “House of the Dragon has returned. We are thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family as well as new talents on both sides of the camera. All your favourite characters will soon be conspiring at the council tables, marching with their armies, and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”
