Game of Thrones is still one of the most popular TV program franchises of all time. With each season, the program achieved unprecedented heights. The fantasy series continues to hold the record for the most Emmy Awards awarded. However, success is usually accompanied by controversy. The program was both popular and infamous for the quantity of sex scenes and nudity depicted on-screen. And Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo, was involved in one of them.

Jason Momoa felt extremely uncomfortable on being asked about his Game of Thrones sex scene

Not too long ago, in an interview with NY Times, Momoa was asked if he liked doing the scene, where Drogo sexually assaulted a young Daenerys. Towards the end of the interview, Momoa pointed it out:

“I wanted to bring something up that left a bad feeling in my stomach. When you brought up “Game of Thrones,” you brought up stuff about what’s happening with my character and would I do it again. I was bummed when you asked me that. It just feels icky — putting it upon me to remove something.”

Jason Momoa didn’t have a choice

At that point in his career, Jason Momoa was still an unfamiliar name without much influence. He further added:

“As if an actor even had the choice to do that. We’re not really allowed to do anything. There are producers, there are writers, there are directors, and you don’t get to come in and be like, “I’m not going do that because this isn’t kosher right now and not right in the political climate.” That never happens. So it’s a question that feels icky. I just wanted you to know that.”
