Game of Thrones is undoubtedly one of the greatest television shows ever made – there’s hardly anyone on the planet who is not familiar with it’s name. The franchise has managed to woo the fans with its spinoff show, House of the Dragon as well, with a few more on the way. However, not all House of the Dragon actors were enamored by the idea of watching the original show, including Ewan Mitchell, who plays Aemond Targaryen.

Ewan Mitchell didn’t want to watch Game of Thrones

A number of actors who audition for a specific role watch the source material to understand it better, but Mitchell is not one of them. In the recent CCXP Brazil panel, he revealed,

“I didn’t want to watch the show and have it consciously or subconsciously affect my performance in any way. I wanted to bring something completely fresh to the table in Westeros.”

Did Aemond intend to kill Lucerys?

Ever since the House of the Dragon Season 1 finale aired, fans who have read the book Fire & Blood as well as watched the show have been confused. While in the novel, it was implied that Aemond really wanted to kill Lucerys, the show depicts it as bullying gone really wrong. When a fan asked Mitchell about the scene, he answered coyly:
