If there’s one thing that the Game of Thrones franchise has always been great at so far, it would definitely be its casting. Even the GOTverse progenitor George R. R. Martin is in awe of them. Game of Thrones has showcased some of the best; absolute gems of the acting industry, and the prequel House of The Dragon has managed to repeat the same feat. Both Game of Thrones and House of The Dragon actors have appeared on the covers of various famous magazines. This time, it is Emma D’Arcy’s time to shine.

D’Arcy, who plays Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of The Dragon, is among the honorees of GQ’s Men of the year list. Sponsored by Boss, GQ’s annual Men of the Year event celebrates the best and brightest across fashion, culture and politics. D’Arcy has been acknowledged by GQ magazine as a breakout star for playing a significant part in House of The Dragon’s success with their role as the Black Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.

D’Arcy is non-binary and although they haven’t shared a great deal about their identity, fans prefer using the pronouns they/them when they’re referring to D’Arcy. The actor is artful about how and what they share on social media. In fact, they only started sharing their own work on Instagram after their House of Dragon role came to light.
