House of The Dragon showrunner teases new characters in Season 2

The first season of House of the Dragon has left fans wanting more, and the show had been renewed for a second chapter even before the season finale aired. It might be some time for the second season to finally be here, as it takes a lot of hard work, planning, patience, coordination between various departments, and a big budget. While the second season is still in production, showrunner Ryan Condal announced the commencement of filming for Season 2.

House of The Dragon Season 2 will have some new faces

In an exclusive interview with Sky Atlantic, Condal said, “House of the Dragon has returned. We are thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family as well as new talents on both sides of the camera. All your favourite characters will soon be conspiring at the council tables, marching with their armies, and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”

Who among the original cast and crew are returning in House of The Dragon Season 2?

Sky Atlantic also confirmed all the original cast and crew that will be returning for Season 2. They include: Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.

Crew members include: Co-Creator/Executive Producer, George R.R. Martin; Co-Creator/Showrunner/Executive Producer, Ryan Condal; Executive Producers Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, Vince Gerardis.

Who else is returning for House of The Dragon Season 2?

According to a recent report by the Redanian Intelligence, Geeta Patel, along with Clare Kilner, who directed the episodes King of the Narrow Sea, We Light the Way, and The Green Council will also be back in Season 2. Another rumor suggests that Loni Peristere, who also directed two episodes of The Witcher Season 2 and has worked on shows like Banshee and Warrior will also be joining House of The Dragon in Season 2.
