House of the Dragon Season 2 scores big with a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes
It’s not an easy feat, but the fans may still feel differently about it.
Max (formerly known as HBO Max) increasing its subscription price put pressure on subscribers’ wallets. But if you’re eagerly waiting for the House of the Dragon Season 2, the price increase may not seem like a setback after seeing its rating on the movie aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes.
Critics are loving what House of the Dragon Season 2 has to offer
The Game of Thrones prequel series has managed an impressive score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Although the rating is based on early reviews, it’s a strong enough indicator for the viewers to believe that the makers have done full justice to the hype.
Some of the top critics, including ones from CNN and The Independent, believe that the first few episodes of the series will test viewers’ patience, as it takes time to set the tone for a “grand, violent spectacle”. We’ll know whether viewers’ opinions align with those of critics when the much-awaited second series will be released on June 16 in the US and the next day in the UK.
Created by Ryan Condal, House of the Dragon is based on Goerge R. R. Martin’s popular fantasy book, “Fire & Blood”. The latest season of the series will see the return of famed actor Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower.
Brace yourself for longer episodes
The makers will wrap up the second outing in eight episodes, unlike season one, which is 10 episodes long. The second episode is expected to be the longest, with 72 minutes runtime. The first episode is 63 minutes long, while the third and fourth episodes stretch to 65 minutes and 54 minutes respectively.
