House of The Dragon is the 3rd most popular TV show on Twitter amongst recent/upcoming arrivals
Game of Thrones was definitely the biggest TV show of the 21st century. Very few shows come even close to the epic fantasy in terms of budget, cinematography, popularity, viewership, and the number of awards won. Game of Thrones still holds the record for the most number of Emmy Awards won to date. No wonder it is still the hot topic of conversation over various social media platforms. So it’s no surprise that the upcoming prequel House of The Dragon has created a lot of buzz all over the internet. In fact, it is the 3rd most engaging topic about a TV show on Twitter already.
According to a recent survey by Variety, the Game of Thrones prequel ranked third right after Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy. The overall engagement of House of The Dragon was 218.1k whereas Stranger Things topped the list with 441.8k and The Umbrella Academy scored 256.3k.
The engagement is counted based on several factors that include mentions, replies, retweets and views. HBO has been regularly dropping bombs about the prequel (as well as several other spinoffs such as the one with Jon Snow) that include the recent launch of a new poster, a dragon’s face reveal, and several new merchandise on sale have provided a huge boost to House of The Dragon’s popularity.
