Jacaerys’ parentage was laid bare as soon as he was born. Unlike the novel, he didn’t even have an excuse in the form of Rhaenys, whose hair was brown in Fire & Blood. However, one redditor, KingRich8612, managed to give Jacaerys more credibility in a what if scenario, where his appearance is more akin to his mother, Rhaenyra, with silver locks and purple eyes.

Jacaerys’ appearance and his fear of dragonseeds

Jacaerys’ appearance is one of the main reasons why he detests the dragonseeds. His ability to ride dragons, in his view, is the only thing that proves his legitimacy. In a recent interview, Harry Collett, who plays the role, explained:

“There’s a little bit of fear within him. All of his life, he’s tried to get away from the fact that he is a bastard, but he knows it deep down. He wants to ensure that everything is perfect and going his way by the time he sits on the Iron Throne.” Namely, he doesn’t want his claim questioned. “How would people see him?” In the future, when it’s him and a load of bastards, it’s kind of insulting to him.”
