Eve Best hopes Rhaenys returns in flashback sequences in House of the Dragon
Is The Queen who never was’ return possible?
Eve Best’s phenomenal acting brought Rhaenys’ final moments to life, infusing them with depth and emotion as she slipped away, her loyal dragon Meleys unable to save her. The scene was a masterful performance that continues to resonate, fueling the flames of rebellion and setting the stage for a fierce and epic battle for the Iron Throne. The tragic end of Rhaenys Targaryen in House of the Dragon left an indelible mark on the series.
Could Rhaenys make a spooky comeback?
This season, we’ve seen some familiar faces return to the show in unexpected ways. Actors like Milly Alcock have popped up in flashbacks and visions, leaving us wondering if other beloved characters might follow suit. One person who’s definitely on our minds is Rhaenys, played by the talented Eve Best. Although she’s no longer with us in the present storyline, we can’t help but wonder if she might find a way to haunt us (and Aegon) in the future. Eve Best in an interview with Variety said,
“This season, we’ve seen actors who previously exited the show, like Milly Alcock, reappear in flashbacks and visions.”
Rhaenys’ presence in an unnatural way.
Eve Best, the talented actress who brought Rhaenys to life, is eager to see her character’s legacy continue in a spectral form. She envisions Rhaenys’ spirit popping up everywhere Aegon goes, offering her trademark wisdom and wit, and perhaps even a few choice words to keep him on his toes. This idea is yet to be confirmed, it’s an exciting prospect that could add a whole new layer of depth to the story.
“I’d love her to. I think she should haunt him like crazy. She should pop up everywhere he goes, giving him all kinds of advice and a piece of her mind. We’ll see. Who knows?”
