House of the Dragon Season 1 encapsulated everything we’ve grown to love about the Game of Thrones franchise. Love, desire, loss, terror, blood, deception, and of course, the dragons. Viewers and critics unanimously praised the first season, and fans are anxiously anticipating the next episode in the Targaryen drama. In Season 2, the audience will witness even more tragic storylines.

Nicola Wright joins House of the Dragon Season 2

Though House of the Dragon fans are eagerly awaiting Season 2, they are dreading one sequence from Fire & Blood that has been confirmed to appear in the show. The Blood & Cheese storyline is one of the horrifying examples of innocents being sacrificed for a war. Actress Nicola Wright has been cast in this episode and will play one of the innocent rat-catchers who will be caught and slain following “Blood & Cheese” because Cheese was also a rat-catcher.

How book-accurate will the ‘ratcatcher’ be in Season 2?

Showrunner Ryan Condal hinted at the Blood & Cheese plot in Season 2 in the most recent edition of his podcast, The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of. “We’ve been doing a lot of R&D,” he continued, “and I’ve been looking at a number of rat traps recently. And they’re awesome. That speaks more to book readers than anyone else but pay attention.
