House of the Dragon is now available on 4K UHD Blu-Ray and DVD

House of the Dragon Season 1 is finally out on both Blu-Ray as well as DVD. Season 1 of the HBO series can be purchased digitally through Prime Video, Google Play, Youtube, and more. Blu-Ray physical discs are available from retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. The most die-hard of fans can also place an order for the House of the Dragon Season 1 Steelbook 4K edition from Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart.

The HBO series has been one of the year’s best shows on TV. That’s doubly impressive considering the sheer quality of great TV that the year was packed with. 2022 was home to shows like Andor, The Sandman, and 1899, all of which were received exceedingly well. The HBO series has done well to stand in a class of its own as one of the most compelling series on TV.

House of the Dragon has further solidified the mass, mainstream appeal of the Game of Thrones IP, which bodes great tidings for future projects. Hype for Season 2 has been on a steady climb since the first show wrapped and it was greenlit for Season 2. Comments from HOTD actors such as Steve Toussaint suggest that the second season will be an even grander and more brutal affair than the first. That’s saying a lot for a show that has already featured massive action set pieces and intense drama.

It appears production on Season 2 of HOTD might take upwards of 8 months, so it is likely that we will only get to see some more GoT drama towards the end of 2023 or early 2024. Considering the scope and scale of the creators’ vision, House of the Dragon Season 2 will be a massive effort.
