Game of Thrones Season 7 is almost at the end of its run, and the final episode, titled “The Dragon and the Wolf“, airs later today. Over the length of the show, the fans have been eagerly waiting for one event : Cleganebowl. In case you don’t know, Cleganebowl refers to the ultimate showdown between the Clegane brothers, The Mountain a.k.a. Gregor and The Hound a.k.a. Sandor.
The event has been teased a lot, but there are a few things that have the fans thinking that it might happen this season. In a new interview now, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays the role of The Mountain on the show, teased Cleganebowl for the Season 7 finale. Read on!
Hafþór recently spoke to EW, and speaking about Cleganebowl, he said :
“That’s definitely something I would like to see. And for most of the fans, it’s something they’re all waiting for. It looks like it’s going to go that way, but who knows?”
Not just that, he also is certain that The Mountain will win the fight “100 percent”, if it ever happens :
“I haven’t seen it yet in my head how I would kill him, but somehow I would smash his head or kill him like that. I think the fight would be quick rather than something long. I think people would be expecting a big fight but I would finish him really fast. It would be a surprise to people.”
However, Hafþór is sure that The Mountain has to die at one point. Speaking of this, he said :
“That’s a good question. I don’t know. To be honest with you, I think I will die at some point. I would like to live. I think it’s pretty obvious I’m going to die in a fight.”
What do you think? Will Cleganebowl happen in the Season 7 finale? Let’s not forget, that little glimpse we got of The Hound in the Season 7 trailer, where he’s shown in a bit of a frenzy, and in sunshine, hasn’t been seen in this season yet, so it seems like it will happen in the finale, and in King’s Landing. Could it be Cleganebowl, after all? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
