Game of Thrones’ Nathalie Emmanuel gets emotional as she gets a ‘lil crop cut’

Game of Thrones was never just about heroes. It was also about those seemingly small characters who played their part so well that it was hard to omit their value. Whether they stayed for a short duration or played a longer part in the storyline, we regard them as crucial to the endgame. Missandei of Naath, played by Nathalie Emmanuel, stood by Daenerys Targaryen’s side almost till the end. Emmanuel is going through a big change in her life currently, and according to her, she needs all the support she can get.

Nathalie Emmanuel has always been a big advocate for personal rights, equality, and a more compassionate perception of the traditional notions of beauty. Hence, it was a big moment for her when she got ready to chop her beautiful locks for the first time in her life. She posted a clip on Instagram, where you can see she is close to crying.
Emmanuel wrote in the caption, writing: “It was kind of a big deal for me. It’s not my usual vibe to post very personal videos of my life… especially of me CRYING.”
She then shared the video above for “those who have experienced any kind of feelings of othering or hair discrimination” as a result of unfair societal beauty standards — especially those relating to hair.”
“Anyway… please be kind… me and my lil crop cut will be over here getting to know each other…,” she continued. “Thank you to @neekobackstage_ and Tanya for holding my hand through this and to all my people dem who encouraged and cheered me on… You know who you are…”
