Game of Thrones’ Hafthor Björnsson engages in a Grappling Match with Gunnar Nelson
Game of Thrones showcased some of the finest warriors in fantastical television history. Out of all the warriors on the show, Ser Gregor Clegane (The Mountain) was the most feared of all. How did they make the character so fierce? The Mountain was played by the world’s strongest man Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson himself! Björnsson is preparing hard for his highly anticipated boxing battle with rival Eddie Hall. The former strongman is learning every possible move he can, including grappling.
Björnsson recently got into a grappling match with UFC welterweight Gunnar Nelson. While Nelson certainly maintained a technical advantage, Bjornsson more than held his own for the majority of the time. He used his sheer size and power to break free of many potential submissions.
Despite Bjornsson having no prior experience in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Nelson was impressed with the way he was able to manipulate his body weight to prevent himself from being put into bad positions or getting out of submissions when he got himself into trouble.
“I’ve been wanting for a long time because a lot of my friends have been saying, I have no chance against you on the floor,” Bjornsson said to Nelson on a video posted to his YouTube channel. “I’m just interested. To see if the technique and the experience are going to overcome the strength. Not only the strength but also the body weight.”

The year 2020 was a Red Wedding for humanity. In times like these, we often wish for a superhero to have existed in reality. Even though we don’t have superheroes in real life, we do have superhero movies to help us get through tough times. Marvel Cinematic Universe has provided some of the most entertaining superhero movies in the past two decades. And they plan to expand their universe more. Marvel dropped a video showing off their amazing roster that included Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and perhaps most intriguing, Eternals. The film is directed by Chloé Zhao, who just became the first non-white woman to win an Oscar for Best Director for her work on Nomadland.
Eternals was originally going to come out in 2020 but was pushed back after theatres closed. The new release date is November 5, 2021. Are you excited about Marvel’s Eternals? Talk to us in the comments below!
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) causes debilitating mental strain to millions of people worldwide. It often hampers personal growth and the ability to work at full potential owing to a harrowing incident of the past. Angelina Jolie’s recent movie Those Who Wish Me Dead circles around this issue. Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish) plays a negative role in the film. Check out the trailer for the movie right below!
Based on Michael Koryta’s 2014 novel, Those Who Wish Me Dead stars Jolie as the smoke jumper Hannah — one of the expert firefighters trained to parachute into a blaze. Stationed at an isolated fire tower, she’s still reeling from a past failed mission. When she encounters 12-year-old Connor (Australian actor Finn Little), the traumatized preteen is on the run, stalked by two assassins (Nicholas Hoult and Aidan Gillen). And together, Hannah and Connor have to outrun both their hunters and the wildfire raging around them.
Real firefighters were also on set to help monitor the wildfire scenes. Those Who Wish Me Dead also stars Jon Bernthal and Jake Weber, and will hit theatres and HBO Max on May 14.
Aidan Gillen will also play the lead role in Discovery’s Killers of The Cosmos. Are you excited about the upcoming film? Talk to us in the comments below!
