Freddie Fox (Gwayne Hightower) joins Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole) in Cáceres

The production for Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is in full swing. We have already seen pictures of new sets being erected in Spain, with filming about to begin. Once the filming in Spain is complete, the production will move to North Wales, where new scenes will be shot for House of The Dragon season 2.

House of The Dragon cast chilling together before filming begins

House of The Dragon Season 2 shoot is currently underway in Cáceres. A few moments before that curious fans spotted several members of the cast sharing a light moment in Cáceres, which include Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), Freddie Fox (Gwayne Hightower) and Michelle Bonnard, who played the Brothel Madam in Season 1.

Who are the new cast members in House of The Dragon Season 2?

In a recent Tweet by the House of The Dragon official account and a report by Deadline, 4 new actors have been signed up for the following roles:

  • Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Castellan of Harrenhal and great-uncle to Lord Larys
  • Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, son of Otto Hightower, brother to Queen Alicent
  • Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, a healer and resident of Harrenhal
  • Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, a sailor in the Velaryon fleet

House of The Dragon Season 2 will have some new faces

In an exclusive interview with Sky Atlantic, Condal said, “House of the Dragon has returned. We are thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family as well as new talents on both sides of the camera. All your favourite characters will soon be conspiring at the council tables, marching with their armies, and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”
