“Relationship is starting to fracture,” says Eve Best about Rhaenys and Corlys in House of the Dragon Season 2

Something from the past will upset Rhaenys and Corlys’ relationship.

House of the Dragon Season 2 is all set to make its grand entrance on June 16, 2024. But before the big day, the show had its exclusive premiere in New York on June 3rd. The cast and crew were present, including the brilliant Eve Best, who portrays Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. She shared her insights and thoughts on Rhaenys’ journey since Season 1.

Eve Best on how Rhaenys has changed

Speaking to Deadline, Best spoke about the physical challenges of stunt performances, specifically dragon riding. She also discussed the change in the relationship between Rhaenys and her husband, Lord Corlys Velaryon. Best stated:

“Well, there was the physical craziness of doing a lot more dragon riding, which is always a bit of a physical challenge for me because it’s not my… I wouldn’t say it’s my happy place, although it’s fun in its own crazy way. I was proud of myself that I survived it. But there’s also as characters, I think what was very significant for both me and Steve is that our characters who had been in season one such a support and rock for each other. And now that relationship is starting to fracture. And I think Rhaenys is feeling a lot more vulnerable. Something comes up from their past that is a deep, deep, deep wound. And it’s breaking them a little bit. And it’s agony to feel like she’s losing that support, that love, that relationship. It’s shaking.”
