Emma D’Arcy reaches Trefor Quarry for the filming of House of the Dragon Season 2

House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel, had an incredible first season, with some even stating it was better than the original show’s first season. Fans and critics have praised the costumes, landscapes, settings, storyline, and videography, and the production has just relocated to North Wales for additional filming. The show’s star Emma D’Arcy has also arrived in North Wales.

Emma D’Arcy is in Trefor Quarry

Trefor Quarry is a prominent site in Wales for the filming of House of the Dragon Season 2. D’Arcy, who will be playing Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen in Season 2, recently posted a picture on Instagram stories indicating that she is currently in Trefer Quarry for the next phase of production.

New sets in Trefor Quarry

Filming in Trefor Quarry is expected to begin next week, as the sets are currently being constructed and the show’s stars already arriving on site. Some locals also managed to click glimpses of the production, that have been shared on the internet by the fan accounts @rhynwilliams and @housethedragons.

Dinorwic Quarry is an important filming site in North Wales because it is speculated that the Battle of Rook’s Rest will be filmed here. The size of the set here is quite huge, and unmistakenly represents military camps and siege weapons.
