Bran returned with a bang on Game of Thrones season 6 and Hodor spoke some words
Game of thrones is back on our screens and we have missed our beloved Bran Stark who has made a comeback on the show after two long years. In a recent interview with EW, Isaac Hempstead Wright said his storyline was going to be the most intriguing this season 6 and boy he was right.
Bran vision took him to Winterfell with the Three-Eyed Raven and he watched young Ned Stark sparring with Benjen and they were joined by Lyanna Stark. Bran also saw the young Hodor and he found out that his real name is Wylis (in the books his name is Walder) and he could actually speak when he was young.
This scene was very exciting as we saw Lyanna Stark for the first time in the show and also came to know that Hodor (Wylis) could speak normally when he was young but he sure was huge for the children of his age. We don’t know what incident took away his ability to speak but we think that it might be interesting. It should be noted that Christian Nairn, who plays the role of Hodor once said that Höðr is the Norse God of Winter when he was asked if he had any theory about the meaning of his name.
On being asked if this is Bran’s best season, he said, “Definitely. His first two seasons he was reacting to other people’s storylines. Then he started to get his own thing with his dreaming and journeying north. But we weren’t sure what was going on. Now we’ve learned his storyline is pretty damn important. I love this season so much. His been very insular in his storyline. Now he’s realized he’s been having his dreams because he’s got to save Westeros. It’s such a cool storyline now.”
He also spoke about what to expect from his visions this seasons, he gave an interesting reply saying, “Bran is pretty damn close to being the Three-Eyed Raven now. Previously, he’s seen tiny glimpses of future or past but never has he been very much in control of the situation. Now we’re given looks into very important events in the past, present, and future of this world and Bran is beginning to piece them together like a detective, almost as if he’s watching the show. Equally, he’s now discovering how crucial he could be in the Great War. It’s quiteInception-y. His power is not just in telling us about the history, but also might have a serious impact on the future.”
This interesting interview then went to how Isaac Hempstead Wright, the actor who plays Bran Stark, felt when he got to stand up on the show finally. He said, “For the first two days it’s like, “Oh yeah, I’m walking around and doing things.” Then you’re like, “You know what? Can we go back to the cave so I can lie down again and just relax?” But no, it’s been nice to stand up for a bit this season.”
We are just really glad to have him back on the show.
