The Last of Us is the new cash cow of HBO. Deemed one of the best video game adaptations to date, each episode has ramped up the intensity and excitement. The critics and the viewers are highly impressed by the quality of the sceneries, storylines, costumes, and zombie makeup, and are excited about the upcoming second season of the show. However, they might have to wait a bit longer than they expected.

When will The Last of Us Season 2 arrive?

On her latest visit to The Jonathan Ross Show, Bella Ramsey talked about the approximate release date of Season 2 of The Last of Us. She said, “It will be a while. I think we’ll probably shoot at the end of this year, beginning of next. So it’ll probably be the end of 2024, early 2025.”

In a recent interview with Collider, Pascal said, “In the year 2023? Oh, what season are we in now? We’re getting into spring? Yes, there is a chance. Yes.” The first season of The Last of Us took around 18 months to film. So, looking at the time gap, there’s a high probability that the second season won’t be here until 2025.

What can we expect from The Last of Us Season 2?

Showrunner Craig Mazin teased the reporters about what’s to come in Season 2, “Sometimes it will be different radically and sometimes it will be barely different at all, but it’s going to be different and it will be its own thing. It won’t be exactly like the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make. We are making it with Bella.”
