Are Tormund and Beric dead on Game of Thrones?

Game of Thrones has a history of killing off characters we love. The Season 7 finale, titled ‘The Dragon and the Wolf’, aired this Sunday, and man, what a climax did it have! The Night King rode Viserion to the Wall, and destoryed a giant chunk of the wall with its blue fire, paving way for the Army of the Dead to enter the realm of men. Now, we saw Tormund Giantsbane and Beric Dondarrion on the wall, when it was collapsing, and there seems to be one giant question on everybody’s mind, did they die? We think we might know. Read on!
Now, according to an official recap of the episode from HBO, this is what happened :
“Pieces of the Wall begin to collapse, as Tormund and his wildings rush to safety.”
Now, it’s unclear from this whether they succeeded in getting to safety. The last scene to show them clearly, involved the tell look as the Wall fell apart behind them, taking some of the men down with it. Now, we know that Game of Thrones has always taken pleasure in showing characters dying, and Tormund and Beric are important characters, so it’s highly doubtful that they decided to kill the pair and not show their deaths.
It seems more like the time they showed Theon and Sansa jump off the edge of Winterfell, but not what happened to them after the fall. As we discovered in the next season, of course, the two were just fine. So we expect Tormund and Beric will be, too.

Some fans have talked in detail about how they easily made it to safety before the Night King got to where they were, while a few fans are saying that Season 8 will begin with the two being in a safe place, possibly Castle Black, trying to relay the message to Winterfell, that the Army of the Dead are headed for them. Also, let’s not forget, Tormund has to make babies with Brienne of Tarth, and the Lord of the Light didn’t bring Beric back six times to have him die in such an undignified way, so our bets are on their survival.
