A glimpse at the first ever official Iron Throne made in 1996
There’s hardly any doubt that some props from Game of Thrones have turned into pop culture icons. The one that stands out amongst them is the iconic Iron Throne. The Iron Throne fuels the desires of the characters, to one day become the ruler of the realm by claiming their chance to sit on the wicked throne. There is a reason why Daenerys’ last surviving dragon Drogon destroys it at the end of season 8. The long history of the Iron Throne in the Game of Thrones lore is very fascinating. However, the prop that we saw on HBO’s TV adaptation wasn’t the first attempt to bring the Iron Throne into existence. The first ever official Iron Throne was made way back in 1996.
George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones came out in 1996. The very first Iron Throne was modelled after the illustration on the cover by Bantam Publications. It is quite different from what we have seen on the TV adaptation. The publisher created this version of the Iron Throne months before the book had even come out as the centrepiece of their booth at the 1996 American Booksellers’ Association (ABA) show in Chicago. And Martin was the guest of honor.

“The thing was really uncomfortable,” Martin commented back then. “That part they got just right.”

Game of Thrones slot machines have been in news recently, especially after Kit Harington’s reaction video going viral. However, not everyone can go to the Sin City to play the game. So Microgaming created an online version of the game for the fans to play. This real money slot features a high-level theme as well as an atmosphere. You will be able to face all the legendary characters from this series. So no one will be disappointed. With this Microgaming slot, you can get even more insight into the ideas and thoughts of George R.R. Martin. In this money slot, you can not only visit all 7 kingdoms but also take part in a bloody and cunning battle for the Iron Throne.
Thanks to this, over the six years of its existence, the free slot machine not only remained relevant but also was in even greater demand among gamers from all over the world. One of the main reasons for the popularity of free slot real money online is not only high-quality graphics and thoughtful design, but also the plot. Who doesn’t want to be the lord of the seven kingdoms or participate in massive battles? One of the nice things about the Microgaming Slots is its symbolism. You can enjoy themed images as well as familiar music while playing.
The whole gameplay takes place against the backdrop of the legendary Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms. On the Internet you can find many movies and TV series that have slot analogues, but Game of Thrones stands out noticeably against their background. For example, one of the great things about this free slot no download is that during the free spins you can choose the royal house you want to represent.
Many players might think that a free slot no download machine game without downloading or registration is the easiest game to play and they don’t have to fight to win. However, it is not. To increase your chances of winning at the Microgaming free slot Game of Thrones, you can use various strategies and tricks. First of all, it is necessary to highlight a strategy that is considered the favourite of experienced players. It’s called Smart Gambler. The essence of this strategy is very simple. But at the same time, it retains its effectiveness and greatly increases your chances of winning. The point is that you should place the lowest possible bets per line.
If you have a winning combination on the reels and start playing to double your winnings, you should take this chance. You can double the amount until you decide it is large enough. This strategy allows any player to try a Game of Thrones slot on download with minimal risk.
For those players who open the Game of Thrones slot Microgaming for the first time in their lives and plunge into the battle for the title of lord of 7 kingdoms and get the right to sit on the legendary Iron Throne, there is a strategy called Zigzag, perfect for the first time. It suits those who first heard about “Game of Thrones” and decided to find out how diverse and original their gameplay is, what are the chances of a major victory, and much more. The essence of the Zig-Zag strategy is that you will have a minimum bet, but you must bet on a different number of lines. Your actions in this case should be as chaotic as possible in a free slot with a bonus.
There is another strategy that can bring you an almost guaranteed win in your favourite slot. This is called the Martingale strategy. It is perfect for the Game of Thrones slot as it has an RTP of 95%, which is ideal for this strategy. Another indicator to use is the presence of bonus symbols. You can also use the minimum betting range. Another metric to use is the ability to trigger a sequence of free spins, doubles, risk, and bonus round.
Almost every player and even a person who has nothing to do with online gambling have heard the Martingale strategy. However, not everyone can use it properly. With its help, you can almost easily beat the Game of Thrones slot no download machine. With this strategy, you will not only be able to get back your money spent on bets but also significantly increase them. If you have special combinations with him, your winnings can increase tenfold. What is the essence of this strategy? In this case, the entire gameplay in the free slot with bonuses is conducted only on one pay line. Your first bid should be as low as possible. If he loses, he needs to double it exactly. This scheme works until the first win.
After that, you need to start betting again with the lowest available. In addition, there is another reliable strategy for gamblers, which in most cases can help to thwart the desired winnings. These are Parley’s strategies.
Another way is to call it a strategy with big wins and minimum stakes. According to the principle of playing the game, in this case, after each loss, the bet is halved and the game is played along all pay lines. Thus, you can not only minimize possible risks but also expand your bank, even if it is small.

Game of Thrones merchandise is very rare to get your hands on, a prop from the TV show is even rarer. The cast members were themselves denied access to many of the iconic set treasures that were close to them. However, fans of both Game of Thrones and Vikings TV series have a chance to own valuable assets from their favourite franchises. Ireland’s auctioneer to Hollywood, Sean Eacrett in Laois, will be bringing the gavel down on his latest celluloid props collection, from Vikings and Game Of Thrones on Monday, July 26th.
The auction will feature thrones and costumes from the sixth season Amazon Prime and History Channel Norse series, and notably two other items of particular interest; giant candelabras from Game Of Thrones.
Sean is now synonymous with the auction of Irish film sets and props since it all started in 2016. These auctions also benefit the Irish film industry. The July 26th auction features props primarily from the six Vikings series filmed in County Wicklow, and two items of interest from Game Of Thrones.

The Red Wedding remains one of the most horrifying and gruesome episodes in Game of Thrones history. The inspiration for the loathsome butchering of Rob Stark, his wife and his mother along with his forces is actually based on real-life history. The Black Dinner refers to an event in late medieval Scotland, in which the principal heads of the Douglas Clan were invited to dine with King James II, which ultimately led to them being falsely executed.
King James II (AD 1430 – 1460) of the line of Stewarts was the son of King James I and Joan Beaufort. He succeeded his father at the age of 6 after James I was assassinated in AD 1437 in a sewer tunnel, whilst trying to flee from Sir Robert Graham of Kinpont and a group of conspirators.
Regency over the boy king was given to Archibald Douglas, 5th Earl of Douglas, who headed the Scottish government as lieutenant-general of the realm during the minority of James until AD 1439.
After Archibald’s death, power was shared amongst William Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton and Lord Chancellor of Scotland, Sir Alexander Livingston of Callendar, and James Douglas, Earl of Avondale.
The Douglas clan were the most prominent family in lowland Scotland during the Late Middle Ages and were considered a threat to rival families, and even the throne through their influence over the crown.
In AD 1440, Crichton, Livingston, and James Douglas conspired to break the power of the late Archibald Douglas’s family and invited the 16-year-old William Douglas, 6th Earl of Douglas, and his younger brother to dine with the boy king at Edinburgh Castle.
According to legend, whilst they ate, a black bulls head was placed before William and his entourage which symbolised death. The two brothers were then dragged out to Castle Hill and given a mock trial with trumped-up charges, claiming they had protested against the king and were named as traitors to the crown and beheaded. In another account, the king pleaded for their lives, but the pleas were ignored, and they were beheaded in the castle yard.
The Black Dinner (and the Massacre of Glencoe in AD 1692) would later serve as the inspiration for ‘The Red Wedding’ in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.
