Game of Thrones star Kit Harington to write and star in a new BBC drama about Guy Fawkes
The actors of Game of Thrones are probably looking for new shows and movies to star in since the show is going to end after the final two seasons. And actorKit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, is set to appear in something that he thinks will be quite the rage. Kit is planning to produce and star in a BBC drama inspired by Guy Fawkes’ infamous failed attempt to assassinate King James I in 1605.
The plot is based on Fawkes, who attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in what was known as the Gunpowder Plot.British TV trade magazineBroadcast had first revealed that the drama, three-part, is being prepared at BBC. Business Insider confirms that the project is close to being commissioned. The drama has been given the provisional title “Gunpowder“, and will be produced by Kit’s production company Thriker Films alongside Kudos, a British drama production firm.
The drama holds personal importance for Kit, as he has revealed, since he is a direct descendant of Robert Catesby, who was the brains behind the failed mission. Kit said that he was working on the screenplay which is based on the assassination attempt of King James I by Fawkes.
We hope to see Kit doing more such shows and movies post Game of Thrones.
