Jack Gleeson takes up a Victorian avatar for Peaky Blinders creator’s new show

Game of Thrones featured many infamous antagonists, each despised in their own right—from the brutal Ramsay Bolton to the chilling Night King and the cunningly malevolent Cersei Lannister. However, it was King Joffrey Baratheon who truly embodied a character we loved to hate. Jack Gleeson, who brought Joffrey to life on the screen, is poised for a television comeback in the new Netflix series, House Of Guinness.

After the massive success of his show, Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight is working on another period drama, House Of Guinness. Jack Gleeson will play the role of Byron Hughes in the show. The star-studded cast also includes James Norton, Anthony Boyle, Emily Fairn, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O’Hara and Irish actress Dervla Kirwan. What is House Of Guinness about?

The series is set across Dublin and New York in the 19th century, starting after the demise of Benjamin Guinness, who is acknowledged for the brewery’s initial triumphs. It will narrate the remarkable rise of the family that established the renowned Irish brewery, initiated in 1759 by Arthur Guinness. Yet, beneath the narrative of affluence and success, there’s a sorrowful saga of relentless adversity befalling the family.

What is the release date for House Of Guinness?

Netflix’s House of Guinness release date could be by 2026 at the earliest, as they officially announced the show in March 2024. As of now, there is no confirmation on the release date.
