Helaena Targaryen’s death foreshadowed in House of The Dragon Season 2 Episode 6 ‘Smallfolk’
All ears to the hailing death!
Keeping up with the custom of the dragonlords of Valyria, of keeping the bloodline pure, Aegon II Targaryen married his only trueborn sister Helaena Targaryen. She has never been an ordinary girl and is considered to be a dreamer. Dragon dreamers have always been a part of the Targaryen family. She is different from the other characters in the show mostly immersed in her own world.
Helaena’s whirling in the folk
The chaotic world full of twists and turns is beyond the reach of naive Helaena. From a very young age, she faced various adversities in life. At first, in season 2 episode 1, her son faces a tragic death. Helaena, who had earlier sensed the danger appeared accompanied by her two children, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, where the bloodbath began by the assassins. Though the slayers spared her life, she is left distraught and ramifications of her son’s death. She sank deeper and deeper into madness starting from that point onwards.
Elsewhere in episode 6 of House of The Dragon season 2, she faces the wrath of the common folk of the capital. While Helaena and her mother Alicent were in the sept, the rebellion was alit and they were seen caught in the riot.

The looming danger over Queen Helaena’s life
House of The Dragon, episode 6 foreshadows Helaena Targaryen’s tragic fate. The show in many ways has already hinted at Helaena Targaryen’s unhappy ending. As we all know that Alicent is always very protective of her daughter Helaena. She keeps her very close to herself. Even during the times of riot she kept her shielded.
But as we can notice that during the act of protection, she is being pressed against a ‘Wall of Spikes’, which is something that cannot escape the eyes of a keen observer. this can be a sign of impending danger over her. In the book, Fire and Blood by George R.R Martin, it is mentioned that Helaena jumped from the window of her room and died on the spikes below, with her throat impaled. Her death remains the subject of speculation in the book, if she actually jumped or someone pushed her out of the window.
